Ben started training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at the age 22 in San Diego, shortly after retiring from the Navy. He started his journey under Régis Lebre where he earned his Blue and Purple belts. He then went to train with Tom Knox to complete his Brown belt as well as his Black belt at 31 years old. Ben moved back to Wisconsin in 2018 to open his own academy. He is the only International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) certified black belt in the Central Wisconsin Area. Ben balances his time enjoying his motorcycles, snowboarding, his wife and 3 children, and running his own academy.
